No one day is the same when it comes to little ones, we have a daily routine which ensures a feeling of consistency and security, but also allows for both spontaneous and planned activities with your child.

Here’s an example of a typical day at Early Birds. 8.30 am Doors Open: Children are welcomed individually, encouraged to find their name card, hang up their coats and lunch box before enjoying free play.

8.45 am – 9.00 am Register, news time, discussion about our day, weather map and special news

9.00am – 10 .00 am Free Play / Directed time / Key person activities

Indoor and outdoor time, areas are set up to support all children’s learning and ongoing development.

Weekly session the children have the opportunity to take part in music / movement / core visit with our RADA teacher which improves the children balance, co-ordination and imagination.

Weekly sessions with our music teacher, who explore instruments, singing and rhythm with the children to encourage and develop language and communication skills.

10.00 am 10.30 am – Mid morning snack – A small snack will be available for the children to share, along with water and milk.

10.30 am -11.40 am – Free play / directed time / Key person Daily mile /run on the track and bikes and scooter time. Tidy up time, mini tidy round, toilet and handwashing.

11.55am – 12 noon home time collection via side gate.

12 noon – 12.30 pm Lunch Time – We all sit down for lunch; children are encouraged to attend to their own needs and are supported by staff.

12.30pm – 1.00pm Outdoor play after lunch.

1.00 pm – Morning Session plus lunch club end; home collection via side gate 1pm Register for our Swallow children staying for the afternoon.

1.05pm – 1.30 pm Directed activity, group circle time which is focussed session for school leavers incorporating all 7 areas of learning and preparing for school transition.

1.30pm – 2.20 pm Free play: children developing their own independence and friendship groups.

Out and about: Children have the opportunity to explore the village, Sadlers Wells woods, community planter, play area and church

2.20pm 2.30 pm – Tidy up time

2.35pm – 2.50 pm Circle Time: About our day, what we have learnt, enjoyed and topic

2.50 pm – Getting ready for home time, putting on coats independently, collecting lunch box and walking to side gate for collection.
